We are proud to announce that IZIPACK 3R, our latest compact and Plug&Pack traysealer dedicated to reusable stainless steel food trays has won the 2024 Pacakaging Oscar in the Production, Promising Starts categoy and has been nominated for the Zero Impact Packaging, New Uses category.
Both awards celebrate our commitment to sustainable and innovative packaging solutions.
With our Izipack 3R, we have combined the need for re-use with the simplicity of our Izipack concept. Our goal? To democratize the deposit system for food trays in France.
The widespread adoption of reuse is still slow in France. While jars and bottles are finding their way back to deposit systems, trays are still struggling to follow the trend. However, the AGEC law mandates that at least 10% of packaging must be reused by 2027.
The challenge for trays? The need for an airtight seal to ensure product transport and preservation, combined with the difficulty of finding a simple and accessible lidding solution that meets the requirements of deposit packaging (zero residue for washing).
At Guelt, we are constantly innovating to meet both current and future market demands. For several years, we have been supporting the food industry in transitioning to more sustainable and responsible packaging solutions, including the deposit system. In 2022, we presented our first solution for reusable stainless steel tray packaging at the CFIA in Rennes, which was very well received. Today, we offer an even simpler solution: Izipack, which addresses the 3Rs: Reduction of plastic, Re-Use, and infinite Recyclability of the stainless steel container.
With its innovative Plug & Pack concept, Izipack 3R is a ready-to-use machine: «Plug in, Pack, Make the difference», it’s as simple as that.
Multi-technological (vacuum sealing and MAP), it is adapted to 2 tray formats. Designed to be simple and within everyone’s reach, it is very compact and features a user-friendly control interface, enabling immediate use by the operator. Its format changeover is instantaneous, tool-free and completed under 10 seconds (patented system).
We are confident that this small packaging machine will allow market players to adopt re-use without compromising on quality or preservation.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to InfoPro Digital, Emballage Magazine and the jury of the Packaging Oscar for the recognition, which honors our commitment to a more responsible and sustainable industry. This award strengthens our determination to innovate to meet and anticipate market needs.
